Free Pick In Tonight’s College Football Action

I'm not afraid of the Smurf Turf.

Take #303 Louisiana Tech (+24.5) over Boise State (8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1)
underestimate this Bulldogs team. They have already beaten Mississippi
State this year, and any time a WAC team beats an SEC team it bears
mentioning. La. Tech also played Kansas tough before some weird
turnovers skewed that score as well. I thought they looked sharp in that game and were able to hold their own on both the offensive and defensive lines against a Top 20 team from the Big 12. I was also impressed with how Derek Dooley had that game schemed, and with an extra week to prepare for this trip to Boise I think that he will have some tricks up his sleeve.

Louisiana Tech also covered the spread last
year against Hawaii, Boise State, and Fresno, so they can compete with the
Big Boys in this conference. La. Tech is 4-1 ATS as a double-digit
conference dog and I expect them to put up a fight tonight. They are in a situation similar to Duke, to Temple, to Buffalo, and to some other teams in the country: a traditionally crappy program gets a sharp, smart coach and manages to employ a tidy, talented quarterback and all of a sudden they are a spread-covering machine. I like the Bulldogs to put on an impressive performance tonight. And by that I mean they don't lose by four touchdowns or more!
